Well, I am sorry for taking so long to update. I have been doing a lot of thinking and my life has taken some turns I am not quite ready for, but hopefully things will all get worked out. For one thing I started school again, but was short on the money and had to borrow some. But I have paid it off and that is now behind me. Now I have other responsibilities coming to me. For one I had to finish up the woodcarving with the Boyscouts. So far 2 of the 30 kids have finished it but more will. We have had quite a bit of drama at the gym. We had a guy that was opening for us and he is a guy I really trust. He is an honest man and he knows kungfu so he won’t take trash from anyone who might try to pressure him to give them the key. Some have tried to do just that, but he wouldn’t so they started making trouble for him by talking trash and just giving him a hard time. He finally snapped one day, yelled at every one and stormed off. No one dares fight him but a few days later one of the old men was “standing” in his way so our guy bumped into the older man as he passed but our guy quickly said, “Sorry. I didn’t mean to and don’t talk to me.” Up to that point our man was innocent of all wrong doing but that was too much for the old man who said, “You want to fight? Why did you hit me?” Our man said, “If I wanted to hit you, you wouldn’t be standing.” The old man replied, “Then hit me. Come on, bring it on.” The old guy is like 60 something and this guys is like 20 and 2nd degree black belt. Anyway, we finally got away from there and the next day he showed up at the gym and they wanted him to come out side and he wouldn’t. Finally someone everyone respects showed up and got them to talk it out. It was amazing that when our man, the accused, told his story, no one would listen to him. But as soon as the mediator simply restated the same thing our guy said (because the mediator is a respected man no one dared shame him and tell him he was lying) they just had to agree. The mediator thought the accused was disrepectful somewhat so our man apologized for that and no one lost face and everyone is a happy man. Such a differant world and place.
Speaking of different things: I have only dressed up for a dance 3 times in my life. Well this one was a masquerade ball and it was fun. We had a dance instructor come and teach us differant dances– just the basic steps. I loved the waltz. It was fun. But the reason for the party was a girl’s birthday whose husband wanted it to be really good since it was her 30th. He is a great cook so he made a cake like their wedding cake and spent 2 days on the cake and 4 days on the food. You could tell he was exhausted but everything was so good. It reminded me of a dream I had when I was young to be a chef. Well, dreams come and go but the one I am riding now is great. I hope everyone can follow their dreams and not be afraid to branch out and take steps to broaden themselves. It is just an amazing feeling I have everyday. I wake up and am happy to be where I am. And when I go to bed I am satisfied at what I have achieved. Remind me of this if I ever forget
